The second mover: Amazon and Google

            Amazon and Google are second movers who using drones in commercial delivery purpose.

 

• Advantages

  1) When many companies try to produce drones, the second mover can enjoy         scale economics and lower their cost of drones.

  2) The regulation already setup, Google and Amazon’s investments can directly      go to the right place.

  3) No need to invest in educating customers.

  4) Easily to leverage the knowledge into other field and become the first             mover in other field, for example, Google not only develop drones for               delivery but also for communication and monitoring.

 

• Disadvantages

  1) May only have little market share if they don’t have innovative drones.

      2) The regulation to rule drones may benefit toward first mover and harm                 second movers.
